Myles Brown (MYLO) is an artist spreading empathy through music and film. His resume ranges from serving as an associate producer for the Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Own Your Shine” Juneteenth Artist Spotlight series, to directing a submission for PhotoVogue’s “Tree of Life” global open call, to winning “Best Environmental Film” at the international 60 Second Short Film Fest.
MYLO’s unique filmmaking style formulated after pursuing a bachelor's degree in Psychology. In college, he joined a research team that focused on perceived discrimination against African American college students, as well as the coping mechanisms used to manage these chronic stressors to achieve psychological wellness. He infuses similar coping strategies into his work to create narratives that are universally understood. His projects primarily focus on how self-expression, music, vulnerability, honest conversations, and escapism through nature can lead to a stronger and healthier community. He hopes that telling vulnerable and authentic narratives will promote empathy and interconnectedness around the world.
